Job Description This is a wage position. No state benefits are provided. Position(s) are TEMPORARY and will be utilized for emergency situations ONLY.
The Petersburg Residency is seeking to fill multiple emergency position(s) in Prince George, Dinwiddie and Nottoway Counties to work during 24 hour emergency operations only (12 hour shifts).
Assignments to be established residency wide which could include (Prince George, Church Road, Nottoway, and Mckenney Area Headquarters).

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be skilled in operating highway equipment during inclement weather conditions and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.
Must be able to perform heavy manual labor to include standing, bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and work on-
call during 12 hour day or night shifts to support emergency operations. Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Valid Commercial Driverâ??s License required. Preferred Qualifications Experience performing snow removal operations. Special Requirements Will be required to work outside normal business hours in emergencies, inclement weather and hazardous traffic conditions.
Safety shoes required. Selected applicant must complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment. Fingerprint based criminal history background check, references, work history and DMV records will be verified prior to employment.
