The Staff, Product Program Manager, is a critical position in Ellie Mae’s Product and Strategy organization and will report to the VP of Product Program Management Office.
In this role, the individual will be responsible for leading efforts focusing on standardizing, optimizing Product Lifecycle framework and ensuring Product programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements.
Developing and implementing Product Lifecycle processes and working with Product and Engineering leaders to define, prioritize, and develop Product Management Office programs.
Dimensions of the role include creating functional strategies and specific objectives for the Product Lifecycle process and developing procedures to support to development of our products from strategic conception to market adoption and utilization.
As well as enforcing organizational governance, policy, and communication frameworks. The candidate must have exceptional communication skills, enabling them to influence business and technically leaders, deep knowledge of multiple software development software development frameworks and methodologies, and a proven record of successfully leading cross-
functional teams through transformative processes.
Primary Responsibilities & Objectives
Lead efforts focusing on standardizing and optimizing the Product Lifecycle Management framework for the Product organization by c reating, training, and driving adoption of best practices & effective processes.
Drive Product Lifecycle Management process & policy improvement, communications, and assess impacts.
Provide cross-functional program management leadership to ensure framework adherence and the successful delivery of Ellie Mae products and services to the market.
Lead and drive projects with cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Report on risks, implement risk reduction plans, on progress of framework adoption and provide program support to help ensure high quality, on-
time delivery of any corporate initiative.
Oversee and ensure successful execution and on-time delivery of programs and strategies vision.
Lead and motivate a matrixed organization to accomplish program tasks ensuring effective utilization leveraging industry standard program management techniques and process improvement methodologies.
Qualifications, Skills and Education
15+ yrs. experience in driving strategic initiatives for program management organizations, building commercial software products, and transforming cross-
BS or MS in technical field or Business Management
Strong program management leadership skills with ability to independently lead multiple programs and see that all deadlines are met
Exceptional ability to think in strategic terms about process and methodology and to translate into tactical impact on velocity, quality, and efficiency
Strong communicator, with excellent leadership & influencing skills
Understanding of both Waterfall and Agile software design methodologies
Adept at leading / managing cross-functional programs
Ability to adjust behavior / style quickly in response to feedback and experience
