Position Purpose & Summary The Refinery Process Optimization Engineer (POE) position is located at an operating refinery and is focused on results, projects, processes and procedures related to cost and yield optimization of all unit operations within the refinery operation.
The POE is responsible for accurate measurement, identification and implementation of improvements with regards to yields and efficiencies.
The POE is also responsible for key Process Safety Risk Management (PSRM) implementation activities with regards to High Hazard Processes (HHP) as well as refined oils best practices at their refinery. Principal Accountabilities
25% Yield and efficiency measurement and reporting process improvement activities utilizing both leading and lagging key performance results.
25% Implementation and development support of WW RO COE (World Wide Refinery Operations) best practices. 15% Developing a Statistically Supported Decision Making (SSDM) (or other) structured approach to increase plant yield and efficiencies based on keen benefit and effort prioritization.
15% Lead site HHP PSRM implementation & maintenance activities not limited to PSI (Process Safety Information) , PRA (Process Risk Assessment), MOC (Managment of change), incident investigation, training, contractor safety, audit, permits, PSSR, operating procedures, asset integrity and emergency planning and response.
10% Development and implementation of small capital projects to increase plant yield and efficiencies (typically <$500K).
10% Perform misc job-related duties as assigned.
