Job Role Summary
We are seeking dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for ExxonMobil’s Yuzhno, Russia location to work on challenging quantitative seismic analysis problems in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.
Candidates will conduct applied project work including post-imaging seismic data conditioning, log data analysis and rock physics modeling, velocity model building and domain conversion, forward seismic modeling and seismic inversion.
Job Role Responsibilities
Collaborate with a broad range of geoscience and engineering disciplines to understand and address production problems and optimize geophysical analyses and data acquisition
Perform rock property analysis, seismic-to-well ties, forward seismic modeling, seismic attribute analysis, DHI analysis and seismic inversion
Perform qualitative seismic attribute analysis (selecting, extracting, and displaying seismic attributes, then interpreting the resulting patterns to understand structural and stratigraphic features, seismic anomalies and artifacts) and quantitative interpretation (forward seismic modeling and calibration of volume or map based seismic attributes to rock and fluid properties)
Construct velocity models for domain conversion from seismic- and well-derived data, calibrating velocity models to well control, converting interpretations, wells, and seismic data between time, image depth and true depth domains, and estimating uncertainty based on the data and method employed
Perform Integrated seismic interpretation, integrating seismic data and geologic constraints to build stratigraphic and structural frameworks
Contribute to all stages of seismic data conditioning project work
Knowledgeable in seismic processing and QC
Knowledgeable and can contribute to seismic survey design, quality control of seismic acquisition and processing

Russian citizenship or authorized documentation to work in The Russian Federation
BS, MA / MS and / or PhD degree from a recognized university in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or Physics (or related fields)
Demonstrated record of hands-on industry experience in geophysical data analyses in support of upstream oil and gas operations, minimum of 5 years industry experience required
Knowledge of 4D seismic analysis, interpretation and cross-equalization of 4D volumes, seismic inversion, DAS technology software, well log analysis, statistical methods, machine learning, signal processing, numerical modeling, computer programming and optimization will be an advantage
Experience with one or more geophysical analysis software suites
Strong computational and analytical skills
Willing to travel periodically Domestic, Offshore and International
Good communication skills in English and Russian
