Job Description The Richard Bland College of William & Mary has an exciting opportunity for a Student Success Librarian. Reporting to the Head Librarian, the Student Success Librarian will collaborate with librarians, campus faculty, and other campus partners to develop, support and assess Library services in research and instruction that engage students and lead to academic success.
The successful candidate will also serve as the Librariesâ?? liaison to such departments as The Student Success Center, The Tutoring Center, Athletics, Student Life, Online Learning, and the Honors Program to explore innovative ways to support student success.
The successful candidate will work with outreach, instructional and reference librarians to explore the ways in which current information literacy and teaching practices align with the Collegeâ?
person research assistance and instruction to patrons as needed. Minimum Qualifications â?¢An earned masterâ??s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution.
â?¢At least two years of professional experience that includes public services and instruction in academic libraries. â?
¢Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods. â?¢Evidence of teaching effectiveness and creativity.
ability to present and share ideas clearly and effectively to a diverse audience. â?¢Knowledge of trends and developments in academic libraries, particularly the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy.
â?¢Demonstrated time management and project completion skills. â?¢Ability to meet requirements for reappointment, promotion and tenure.
â?¢Enthusiastic commitment to the Richard Bland College mission, vision and RBC-19 goals. â?¢Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at RBC.
Preferred Qualifications â?¢Experience developing and employing a student-centered pedagogy. â?¢Background in designing and implementing tools to assess student learning.
â?¢Experience in outreach and marketing to students and faculty. â?¢Experience as a library liaison to academic and / or campus departments and units.
â?¢Demonstrated proficiency in current and emerging technologies and all modes of reference, research assistance, information literacy instruction, outreach, and collection development.
â?¢Demonstrated commitment to customer service. Special Requirements A background check will be conducted for the finalist.
