Your Impact :
In this role you will serve as level 2 voice support engineer for an international telecommunication company. Ensure the availability and integrity of the company Voice Network.
Administer Session Border Controllers, Routing Databases, Calling cards platform, Virtual Servers Environment, IP Network, various other systems related to Voice Over IP business.
You will work with Telecom Service Providers globally.
Provide technical service and support for voice network resources;
Receive, analyze, monitor, and resolve voice network problems
Plan, design, troubleshoot and resolve problems in order to stabilize and optimize the company voice network. Analyze, isolate and solve complex fault issues as well as contribute to corrective actions;
Configure and integrate different systems and solutions in new and live environments;
Verify and implement procedural improvements and changes (down to the level of work instructions) and provide input on structural improvements in processes / work instructions.
Change management activities, activation / deactivation of system functionalities, deployment, re-homing, interconnections, end-to-end testing, software upgrade and remote datacenter coordination of activities;
Analyze the risk and impact of new service elements integration;
Verify that KPI’s for the new integrated or modified systems are within agreed thresholds;
Monitoring of the services, by executing daily routines on the end-to-end services and network components by using generic and specific systems, tools and processes;
Back-up and restore routines;
Perform configuration and integration tests;
Analyze and evaluate test results;
Remote support and troubleshooting for field engineers and 3rdparty.
Prepare and update documentation according to specific requirements;
Prepare and maintain reports and records such as inventory records by site and system, physical schematics and equipment configurations;
Keep track and document his / her actions through the internal management tools;
Create and complete reports and also properly deliver these reports to those interested in receiving them;
Direct contact with 3rd parties : voice network operators or network equipment vendors to ensure problems / adaptations are solved within set time frames;
Provide on-call support for network elements related issues;
5+ years of technical experience as telecommunication engineer supporting Session Border Controllers
SIP protocol proficiency
Knowledge / awareness of the following : Ribbon Communications PSX / EMS / SBC / ; DIGITALK MSP ; SANSAY VSX / CPX / RSX / ;
CISCO AS5400 / AS5350, 650x, 3750, 720x
Good knowledge of network provisioning and telecommunication standards;
Open source voice platforms : Asterisk, Freeswitch, etc
Database administration MSSQL (required);
MySQL and Oracle experience are a plus;
Scripting (Perl, Shell, PHP);
SNMP and monitoring tools (ex : Cacti, Nagios, etc);
Virtualization technologies XenServer, VmWare
