Work for one of the leading US quantitative hedge funds which develops and deploys systematic financial strategies across a variety of asset classes and global markets.
The fund seeks to produce high-quality trading signals (Alphas) through their proprietary research platform and to utilize those signals in trading strategies focused on exploiting market inefficiencies.
We are seeking Linux DevOps Engineers to deploy, configure, support, monitor, improve, and automate our global trading systems.
Deploy our trading systems to data centers around the world, to both physical hardware and to Docker / Kubernetes instances
Monitor that our trading systems are running properly
Configure our trading systems, including business logic configuration and network / hardware configuration
Assist in troubleshooting live trading issues
Answer questions from traders about why the system took certain trading actions
Assist in developing the systems that automate all of the above tasks (CI / CD systems, monitoring frameworks, configuration frameworks, etc)
Strong SQL abilities, including writing queries, modeling data, and analyzing performance
Linux bash scripting and Linux command line tools
CI / CD Experience (a plus for GitLab CI / CD experience)
Docker / Kubernetes
Kafka or Pulsar
Experience with build systems (CMake, make, Bazel, NIX, Gradle, Maven, etc)
GDB and experience debugging processes
Experience in the financial sector and trading in particular (not required, but a plus)
Exposure to C++ and Java, not required to write in these language, but at least be able to grep through them when investigating problems
Ability to work independently
Ability to cope with vague or note entirely understood problems that require investigation
Ability to prioritize competing tasks
Desire to find the root cause of problems, and fix them correctly
